I thought these poker chips would be a good way to start trying to teach her colors. I would separate them into piles by colors and name the color as I drew her attention to each pile. Of course, all she wanted to do was splash around in them like water and knock them down as I stacked them up... and of course put them in her mouth. Oh well.

Easter Pictures
Nana bought all of the cousins adorable matching Easter outfits. Sola, Sawyer, Zachary and Abby were cooperative at totally different times. It was hilarious trying to get 4 babies to sit still and look at the camera. Needless to say it didn't happen!

On Her Feet
It seems like Sola has been minutes away from walking for about a week now. Right now, she's standing next to my chair with a fierce determination to put her hands on my macbook. (She has a thing for gadgets, it seems.) We'll probably turn around one day and see her strolling across the living room floor with complete indifference. Like nothing has changed. Like she always could walk - just never decided to until today.

A Big Day for Sola
Today is January 14th, Sola's 8 month birthday. She's been making progress with her ability to move around, but up till now, she's only been able to "army-crawl" on her belly. Today though, she progressed to her hands and knees and is moving a lot faster. Also, and this is just as big, she pulled herself up on her feet for the first time. Yay!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Will, Sola and I had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Thank you all for your wonderful gifts and well-wishes. Sola's first Christmas was a blast. We spent our time before Christmas with the Stephens' family and then headed to Maine for the remainder of our vacation. Sola was a pro at flying and slept the entire way there and back. While we were there, she got her first little tooth- it did not come easy though. She had a nice fever and an upset tummy to go along with it. She met all of her 8 cousins and aunts and uncles. Grandma and Papa were so surprised when we showed up and they didn't know we were coming! More pictures and video to come. We are very blessed to have you all in our lives. Here's to a wonderful 2008!
